Countdown to Morocco: 3 days to go and I’m uber excited! It’s gonna be my very first time on the African continent. I’ve wrapped on ‘A Place in the Sun’ in Torrevieja and driving towards Granada for the night. I just stopped in Lorca on the way to grab a quick dinner before another 2 hours drive.
This amazing hotel and restaurant is called Parador de Lorca and its built on the site of the old Lorca castle ruins: just look at these panoramic views of he town from up here!
The archaeological site is partly located under the hotel and completely integrated into the building.
I had a mix of meats and croquettas, and the obligatory dessert (I have a very sweet tooth, so I can’t ever skip dessert!).
Right, going back to Morocco as the title says 'countdown' and I got very distracted by the Parador! I went through my camera equipment, charged the batteries and checked if I‘m missing anything: go-pro & company, Osmo and a 5D all ready for action. I’ve also booked the first 2 hotels for Tangier and Fes. Nothing really to write about the first one (just a cheap Ibis for Tangier after I land) and then roughly 300 km / 5 hour drive to Fes where I’ll overnight at www.riaddarguennoun.com
Have to pop by Decathlon tomorrow in Granada to sort out the last bits for my Mount Toubkal climb. Need some solid thermals, even though at the moment temperatures at the peak are approximately -5’c which is really not that bad. I’ve got some hiking shoes also, but I might upgrade them if there’s a good deal.
